1. Don't save your logon information

First, don’t save your log-on information. make sure you always log out of websites by clicking "log out" on the site. It's not enough to simply close the browser window or type in another address.  Many programs (especially social networking websites, web mail, and instant messenger programs) include automatic login features that will save your user name and password. Disable the function that automatically saves this information

2. Don't leave the computer unattended with sensitive information on the screen

If you have to leave the public computer, log out of all programs and close all windows that might display sensitive information.

3. Erase your tracks

Delete your temporary Internet files and your history.

4. Disable the feature that stores passwords

Before you go to the web, turn off the Internet Browser feature that "remembers" your passwords.

In Internet Explorer: Click Tools > Internet Options > Content tab and then click Settings, next to AutoComplete. Click to clear the check box for User names on passwords and forms

In Mozilla Firefox : Click Tools > Options > Security tab  and then clear the check box for remember password for site

In Google Chrome: Go to Settings > advance settings >  Passwords and forms, clear the check box for offer to save passwords I enter on the web.

5. Don't enter sensitive information into a public computer

Finally, don’t use a public computer and type in any sensitive information. This can be difficult sometimes, but keep in mind that an industrious thief might have installed sophisticated software on the public computer that records every keystroke and then emails that information back to the thief. Then it doesn't matter if you haven't saved your information or if you've erased your tracks. They still have access to this information.

If you really want to be safe, avoid typing your credit card number or any other financial or otherwise sensitive information into any public computer.

1. Enable two-step verification

All that hackers need to access your Google account (including YouTube, Gmail, and Blogger) is your password, which they can acquire with a phishing scam or when you accidentally expose your password. To address this issue, Google now offers two-step verification, in which Google will send you an SMS with a special code that you enter as the second part of the log-in process.

2. Choose a unique, hard-to-hack password

When choosing a password, there are two things you should be doing. First, choose a password that is unique to your Gmail account and don't use it for any other service.

3. Update your account recovery options

we strongly encourage that you update your account recovery options. To update these options, sign in to your Google Account by going to https://www.google.com/accounts and click Recovering your password. Here, you can add an e-mail address, a phone number, and a security question you can use to recover your account if a hacker changes your password.

4. Check for any strange recent activity on your account.

To check, sign in to your Gmail account and go to the bottom of the page. click Details link next to the 'Last Account Activity' entry at the bottom of your account to see the time, date, IP address and the associated location of recent access to your account.  If you suspect any unknown activity, immediately change your password and security questions, and enable two-step verification.

5. Secure your computer

You need to properly secure your computer with up-to-date anti-virus software, Web browser and Operating systems release patches.
