In this method, we'll use a freeware "ViStart" which was actually created for Windows XP to get Windows Vista or 7 style start menu but this excellent tool works in Windows 8 Consumer Preview as well.
How can I Disable Metro UI and Enable Start Menu in Windows 8 Consumer Preview ?
1) First Download ViStart
Note: If you are going to install ViStart, be careful during the install process because it offers you third-party programs (Babylon toolbar and Registry Cleaner Pro) that you might not want to install.
2) Install the program and then the Start Button (ORB) is back. However, there’s a problem because the button overlaps with the Taskbar(to fix this follow below steps).
3) You can fix this problem by adding a new blank toolbar in Taskbar. Simply follow these steps:
ViStart works perfectly without any problem in Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
